2008 is my 8th season guiding on the Gunnison and in the Telluride area. An avid rafter and adventure fly fishing traveler, I find myself around water in crazy places all the time. Although I fish around the country and cruise international flats every year and ski 90 days in the winter, nothing beats throwing big stones during June in the canyon. I tie a nasty one called the Nightcrawler that is my personal favorite, but I always have an arsenal of Clark's stones on hand. An it's not all about dries on the Gunny... those big browns feast on smaller trout and leaches all year long, so I make sure to have a stout rod and a pile of big ugly streamers no matter when I go. But the truth is, that canyon never lets you down no matter what the weather of the fishing brings.
