John was born and raised in upstate New York along the St. Lawrence River and spent his childhood fishing, boating, hunting, and trapping. He moved out west to attend college at Arizona State and has remained here ever since. John starting guiding on the Salt River in Arizona before he headed to Colorado and the Gunnison River in 1992. Since then, he has become one of the veteran guides on the staff. John brings a life time of outdoor experiences to each and every trip that he guides for Black Canyon Anglers.
